“Paradise” dirilis pada 21 September 2018 sebagai bagian dari EP Hard to Imagine the Neighbourhood Ever Changing yang merupakan karya band ini di era tersebut. Lagu ini termasuk dalam daftar trek yang menggambarkan tema-tema emosional dan reflektif khas band tersebut.
Tema lagu ini fokus pada pencarian kebahagiaan dan kepuasan hidup yang sering terasa tidak tercapai. Meskipun berbagai pencapaian atau pengalaman indah seperti berlibur, meraih mimpi, atau hidup yang ideal muncul dalam imajinasi.
Lagu ini mengajak pendengar untuk merenungkan kenyataan bahwa kita tidak selalu punya kendali penuh atas hidup, dan “surga” atau kebahagiaan sempurna bisa jadi hanyalah ilusi atau tantangan yang tak terhinggakan.
Musik The Neighbourhood menggabungkan berbagai genre seperti alternative rock, indie rock, dan pop rock dengan sentuhan elemen elektronik, hip hop, dan R&B, menciptakan suara yang atmosferik dan emosional. Mereka mulai dikenal luas lewat lagu “Sweater Weather” dari album debut mereka I Love You. (2013), yang berhasil menembus tangga lagu dan tetap populer hingga kini.
